Currently, work of Marine Policy Research Center (FIO) on national marine innovation index is included in the 2018 work focus of Ministry of Science and Technology.

Since 2013, with support of State Oceanic Administration, the Marine Policy Research Center of FIO has led the compilation of 7 reports on national marine innovation index in EN/CN and published them through the China Ocean Development Forum in September 2017.

The Ministry of Science and Technology shows clearly in 2018 work focus that the National Marine Innovation Index Report 2016, issued by SOA, will change marine S&T to innovation pattern. In the long run, FIO will continue the compilation and publication of National Marine Innovation Index Report 2017-2018 by communicating and cooperating with Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development of MOST.
