China-Indonesia Deep-Sea Expedition Technology Training Successfully Held
On September 23, China-Indonesia Deep-Sea Expedition Technology Training was successfully held in Shanghai. This training was organized by the First Institute of Oceanography (FIO) of the Ministry of Natural Resources of China and supported by Shanghai Maritime University and CRRC SMD (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. YAN Wei, Vice President of Shanghai Maritime University, LI Li, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, and TIAN Hao, Deputy General Manager of CRRC SMD (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.

The seven-day training invited trainees from the Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN), Jenderal Soedirman University, the Bandung Institute of Technology and Sam Ratulangi University and provided comprehensive training from theoretical lectures, practice and operation and hands-on skills. During the training, trainees received practical training in the Research Vessel “Xiang Yang Hong 01” of FIO and the unmanned remotely operated vehicle workshop of CRRC SMD (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
Onsite Training
This training will cultivate more professionals for Indonesia in deep sea expedition and related expedition technology and its application, improving Indonesia's capacity for marine scientific expedition and laying a solid foundation for long-term scientific research cooperation between China and Indonesia in scientific expedition. Moreover, it promotes the enhancement of exchanges and mutual trust between China and Indonesia, strengthens the cooperation in marine expedition technology between the two sides, and contributes to the joint establishment of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
