China-Indonesia Marine Technology Training Course Kicks Off in Jakarta

On November 17, the China-Indonesia Marine Technology Training Course, jointly hosted by FIO and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Indonesia and organized by the Indonesia-China Center for Ocean and Climate (ICCOC), commenced successfully at the Jakarta College of Technology. The four-day training course features lectures from six experts representing the Ministry of Natural Resources of China, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and related universities for Indonesian participants. The opening ceremony was attended by I Nyoman Radiarta, Director General of the Agency for Marine and Fisheries Extension and Human Resources Development at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, CONG Bailin, Chinese Director of the ICCOC, as well as representatives from both sides.

In his address, Director General Radiarta emphasized that the training focuses on cutting-edge topics such as blue economy development, marine ecological restoration, and sustainable aquaculture. It closely aligns with the urgent needs of Indonesia's marine industry development and provides valuable technical support and Chinese experience to help Indonesia address related challenges. Director Radiarta stated that the bilateral cooperation will effectively enhance the capacity of human resources in Indonesia's marine sector and ensure the smooth implementation of national key projects.

Researcher CONG Bolin from FIO noted that this training course was meticulously designed based on the actual needs of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. It aims to share China's advanced technologies and successful cases in marine ecological restoration, sustainable aquaculture, and other related fields with Indonesian participants. The knowledge and experience gained can be directly applied to Indonesia's marine industry, promoting the sustainable development of its marine economy.

Through this training, the two sides will establish an efficient platform for technical exchanges and experience sharing, supporting technological advancement and talent cultivation in Indonesia's marine and fisheries sector. In the future, both sides will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of marine science and technology, the blue economy, and talent development. This will further expand the China-Indonesia marine partnership into deeper and broader areas, contributing to building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future.
