Since 1984, FIO has begun to offer graduate education. In 1987, it was approved by the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council as a graduate student training unit. So far, it has consecutively cultivated 33 grades and 557 graduate students. Currently, 89 master students and 22 doctor students study at school. There are 6 master degree programs and 3 doctor degree programs (Jointly-built). Meanwhile, to develop master and doctor program, FIO has cooperated with a number of universities and research institutes including Ocean University of China, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing University, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Shandong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, China University of Petroleum(East China), Guilin University of Technology and others. Besides, it has jointly developed programs with 24 well-known colleges and universities in China including Peking University and Tsinghua University. As a result of more than thirty years’ development and innovation, FIO has formed comprehensive and multi-level training patterns to cultivate graduate students.
