China-Thailand Joint Laboratory for Climate and Marine Ecosystem

The China-Thailand Joint Laboratory for Climate and Marine Ecosystem was launched on 6 June 2013 in Phuket, Thailand, following the Arrangement between MNR/China and MNRE/Thailand on the establishment of China-Thailand Joint Laboratory for Climate and Marine Ecosystem (Apr. 17, 2012). The Joint Laboratory is operated jointly by the First Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, China and the Phuket Marine Biological Center, Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, under the auspices of Ministry of Natural Resources, China and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Kingdom of Thailand.

1. The TOR of the Joint Lab
● To serve as the platform of bilateral cooperation between China and Thailand on marine science and technology.
● To coordinate the joint projects and cruises.
● To serve as the technology base of joint scientific projects.
● To serve as the marine and atmospheric data and information center of the Gulf of Thailand, Andaman Sea and Northern Indian Ocean.
● To serve as the platform of publicizing the results of bilateral marine cooperation.
